Senior Manager External Manufacturing Operations

Our Client, a groundbreaking food tech company, is seeking an External Manufacturing Operations Manager to join their fast-growing team in Chicago. As the lead for external manufacturing operations, you will manage third-party contract manufacturers and establish standardized best practices to maximize production efficiency, ensure delivery requirements, and minimize costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies in partnership with suppliers and Supply Chain team to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply and develop contingency plans
• Set goals and KPIs for suppliers in line with company objectives
• Collaborate with Product Development and Supply Chain teams to anticipate new capacity needs and identify opportunities for capital investments
• Manage on-going activities at external manufacturers and serve as the primary point of contact for production activities
• Monitor and analyze supplier processes to ensure adherence to specifications and written requirements, and collaborate to deliver improvements

Requirements:

• Willingness to travel >30% of the year, potentially internationally
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering teamwork
• Master's degree in Business, Industrial Management, Production Management, or related field
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools
• 10+ years of experience in production management, preferably in Consumer Packaging Goods environment
