Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by amplifying the work of Global Supply Chain through the development and execution of effective communication and engagement approaches. This leadership role will partner closely with Supply Chain leaders, Public Affairs (Enterprise and Corporate Communications) and cross-functional communicators, to develop an integrated communications strategy that ensure communication materials provide clarity, consistency and authentically connect with their intended audience.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Global Supply Chain communications strategy

  • Leads executive internal communications for Starbucks Global Supply Chain leadership team.
  • Identifies and tracks communications success metrics and program performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and to integrate into future initiatives.
  • Establishes and executes internal communications strategy so partners (employees) feel informed and engaged across the organization. Collaborate with supply chain leaders to identify key messages, tactics, and timelines.
  • Lead content creation for key meetings and forums (GSC townhall, director & above meetings, other function wide meetings, etc.) by integrating ongoing business operations within the GSC organization.

Liaison to Starbucks communications community

  • Manages relationships with internal and external groups to develop overall communications strategies and processes.
  • Participate in a cross-functional team of change and strategy managers to maintain continuous engagement across Global Supply Chain organization.
  • Support Global Supply Chain leaders and their functions, including global teams, to produce consistent communications materials and plans which align to Global Supply Chain content strategy and calendar.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Strong writing and copyediting skills, with experience in short-form narrative and editorial journalism
  • Knowledge and experience in working across geographies with multiple stakeholders and influencers
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with an ability to work both independently and inter-dependently with large diverse teams

Summary of Experience

  • Communications and/or supply chain degree preferred
  • Strategic planning and execution, 5 years
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills, 7 years
  • Relationship management with external vendors and business partners, 7 years
  • Communications planning and management, including partnering with C-Suite level leaders 5-7 years
  • Leading and organizing cross-functional groups, 5-7 years
  • Strong supply chain acumen, 3-5 years
