Join our newly centralized Data and Analytics team as the Senior Lead Analyst. This role will serve as the lead analyst overseeing special projects requiring advanced analytical skills and an innovative, solution-oriented mindset. This position contributes meaningfully to the organization by tackling high-impact analytics projects leading to organizational excellence, efficiency, and growth supporting the organization’s strategic plan. In this role you will consult with and provide actionable recommendations and solutions to business teams. You will partner with like-minded analysts to innovate, transform, and advance data intelligence across the organization.
Work Schedule: Hybrid, Full-Time, 40 hours / week.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Develop proficiency across a variety of data platforms and reporting/query tools including ServiceNow, NetSuite, Raiser’s Edge NXT, PowerBI, PowerQuery, SQL, and GISmapping software.
  • Support data quality improvement - identify missing or erroneous data and collaborate to resolve and prevent.
  • Develop predictive models to support revenue growth and operational efficiency (e.g. donor development or product inventory optimization).
  • Proactively partner with director and colleagues to identify new and innovative ways to support decision making across the organization to increase impact and help end hunger.
  • Support team advancement and cross-training efforts. Guide and collaborate with analysts on new approaches and best practices for data collection, preparation, and analysis methods. Provide back-up for team members, as necessary.
  • Support SHH data centralization project, providing input and expertise ensuring the end solution meets the needs of the team for more efficient and effective data work.
  • Prepare and present project outcomes and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders. Support solution deployment, as needed.
  • Partner with fellow analysts (subject matter experts) to mine, query and blend complex data sets to discover patterns to help SHH better understand and serve its neighbors/clients and business partners.
  • Partner with a variety of departments and lead high-impact projects, utilizing advanced analytics to uncover new data insights and deliver solutions for business teams and leaders.
  • Work as a team to develop, apply, and maintain standard data and reporting practices to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports and departments.
  • Uphold SHH data security and privacy policies, partner data security, and privacy provisions including HIPAA compliance.
Must Have:
  • Willingness and enthusiasm for innovation, change, and learning new tools/applications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize and interpret patterns and anomalies in data and demonstrate clear translation into insights/solutions.
  • Comfortable taking on unfamiliar work and seeking out information for knowledge building
  • High degree of integrity, ethical decision-making and sound business judgment
  • Highly self-motivated; ability to establish work priorities and manage projects autonomously
  • Experience working across a variety of data environments/solutions (CRM/ITSM/ERP/WMS)
  • 2 or more years’ experience building data models and conducting predictive analytics
  • 2 or more years’ experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Looker Studio
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to consult and influence business decisions (trusted advisor)
  • Well-organized, with exceptional attention to accuracy, detail, and follow through
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of reporting and data query tools such as MS Excel, IBM Cognos Analytics, PowerQuery, PowerBI, Tableau Prep, Oracle Analytics, BigQuery, SQL, R
  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (mathematics, statistics, business, economics, marketing, etc.) and 5 or more years' experience in a related field.
  • Experience training/coaching others on data prep, reporting, visualization, or analysis methods.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of how data intelligence can impact strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with technical transitions impacting reporting/analytics (e.g. transitioning between software systems, or shifting from decentralized to centralized data warehousing)
  • Knowledge of non-profits, fundraising strategy, and/or supply chain operations
  • Master’s degree in an analytical or mathematical field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience operating within a cloud data warehouse environment
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, NetSuite, Raiser’s Edge NXT, GIS mapping tools
  • Database management/data hygiene
  • Experience accessing/utilizing third-party datasets, such as US Census, Nielsen, or Feeding America data, and integrating with internal data to discover valuable insights
  • Bilingual in other languages highly desired, (Spanish, Somali, Hmong).

Starting Pay Range: $80,000 – $104,000 USD annually or more / Dependent on Qualifications and Experience.
