Title: Senior Engineer, Virtual Design & Verification (VD&V) - 99478


Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position


Your Responsibilities


As a Senior Engineer, Virtual Design & Verification (VD&V) for the John Deere Crop Care, Des Moines Works division, in Ankeny, IA, you will provide technical leadership to the development of VDV load cases and acceptance criteria for the Application Equipment product line and act as a technical expert within the Crop Care VDV team. In addition, you will:


  • Maintain the Crop Care VDV Engineering Analysis Procedure (EAP) documentation in eKV and maintain Tableau dashboards.
  • Collaborate with Crop Care Product Engineering teams and stakeholders to identify product and Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) process improvement opportunities to reduce program risk, improve PDP efficiencies and reduce product and PDP cost.
  • Collaborate with the Crop Care Data Analytics team to refine our product duty cycles.

What Skills You Need


  • Strong product development experience.
  • Strong expertise in test data processing, including the use of nCode.
  • Exhibit strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated capabilities for technical mentoring.
  • Strong analytical capabilities coupled with capability to effectively communicate complex information to a broad audience.
  • Leadership skills in transferring abstract ideas into deliverables and the ability to motivate individuals and teams toward the targeted outcomes.
  • Understanding of structural analysis and how load cases and acceptance criteria are used to evaluate duty cycle events.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and/or internationally, based on business needs.


What Makes You Stand Out


  • Deep understanding of structural analysis using finite element analysis.
  • Experienced user of nCode, Databricks and Tableau.
  • Deep understanding of PV&V test procedures and execution.
  • Experience using data base processing and custom instrumentation and data collection.
  • Master's Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and drive a simulation-based product development culture.


Education Details


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline.
