Senior-level responsibility for feature architecture & development, refactoring and bug fixing in a complex C++ game engine. You will have a high degree of autonomy and in the future will be expected to oversee / manage a small number of less-experienced engineers.
To excel in this role you should understand game engine design and have experience working with or creating game engines.
We focus on building resilient and robust code bases. We take advantage of code quality tools as much as possible (e.g. capturing constraints at the type level; linting; autoformatting). Code-review is a standard across our projects. While we don't practice TDD, we do aim to develop automated testing at every level where it makes sense.
Many of the people in our current team, including most of our leadership roles, are active programmers and we are therefore personally invested in maintaining dev environments and workflows that are dev-friendly. You will be encouraged to suggest and help develop improvements to your own working environment as part of your role.
We are working on a beloved franchise with a long history. The ideal candidate would also be an Age II player/fan, but as a minimum you will be willing to play the games you will be working on!

Compensation
