Abrigo is a seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Director of Product Quality with a strong focus on automation, data, and APIs to join our dynamic team at Abrigo. In this role, you will lead our Quality Engineering function and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through effective test automation strategies, robust data practices for both data-driven products as well as product usage data, and thorough API testing.


You will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products, improving efficiency through automation, and maintaining robust data and API testing processes. Join our team and make a significant impact on our software development lifecycle and overall product quality.


The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of QA processes, and extensive experience in test automation frameworks, testing methodologies, API testing techniques, and product mindset. This position will be remote or office based in Raleigh, NC or Austin, TX.


What You’ll Do:

  • Drive the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various software applications, with a focus on automation, data validation, and API integrations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement automated testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies to optimize QA processes and improve testing efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain QA metrics and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into the quality of software products and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Product Management, and Operations to ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Define and implement best practices, standards, and processes for test automation, data testing, and API testing across the organization.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to automation, data testing, and APIs, and proactively introduce innovative practices to the QA team.
  • Lead and manage the Product Quality/Engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and promote professional development for QA Engineering team members.
  • Collaborate with the Security and Compliance teams to ensure the security and integrity of software systems and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for QA automation, data testing, and API testing initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and product quality.


What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in API testing techniques, including designing test scenarios, validating API responses, and performing integration testing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# for automation and scripting purposes.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in leading QA Engineering teams, with a focus on automation, data, and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks using industry-standard tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and query languages for data testing.
  • Strong knowledge of data testing methodologies, including data validation, ETL testing, data integrity checks, and data quality assurance.
