Functions as Chief of Staff to the VP-Electric T&D by providing critical operational support, process standardization, governance and oversight for all aspects of performance and key functions inclusive of Emergency Preparedness, Health & Safety, Vegetation Management, Business Operations, Distribution Operations Support and Regulatory Compliance.
Directly responsible for the preparation and response implementation for emergencies including storm, and other external threats, the operational support to division operations as it pertains to the Outage Management system, electric system performance and reporting, Transmission and Distribution tree trimming programs, and all aspects of Health and Safety including reporting/record-keeping, incident reporting, investigation analysis and root cause reports, tracking of action items pertaining to changes in safety processes, development and adaptation of processes and procedures, and administration of the overall Line of Business Safety Plans
Also responsible for development, tracking and improvements of key performance metrics in all aforementioned areas as they relate to departmental and Balanced Scorecard results.
Annual budget responsibilities of approximately $50M (O&M) for combined Vegetation Management services and contract administration.
Responsible for the assessment of storm and other emergency outage situations as they pertain to oversight of restoration efforts, assembly of internal and external workforce plans - including mutual aid efforts, and decisive authority over restoration plans.
Provides oversight and directs the resources and activities of 47 MAST, 84 bargaining unit employees and ~480
contractor FTEs. **Job Responsibilities** + Direct and lead Electric Operations and support functions in the areas of Electric Safety, Vegetation Management, Regulatory Affairs, Business Operations, Delivery Operations Support, Regulatory, and Emergency Response/Preparedness.
Drive the change management and associated process improvements required to fully and effectively integrate a wide range of internal and external entities involved in the PSE&G Electric Transmission & Distribution business and operations support venue. + Head all aspects and efforts of Emergency Preparedness and Response to ensure compliance with city, state and federal entities, such as OSHA, BPU, NAMAG (North Atlantic Mutual Aid Group), FEMA, NJDEP, NJDOT, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), OEMs (Offices of Emergency Management), DHS (Department of Homeland Security), EEI (Edison Electric Institute), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), BPS/One Call/UFPA (Underground Facilities Protection Act, etc. Represent the organization as leadership and subject matter expert with these entities as well. Actively collaborate with PSEGLI on emergency response best practices. + Act as an authority and key contact/owner for Electric Operations with other lines of business to ensure consistent, uniform inputs, outputs, and processes are established and maintained.
Lead and delivered strategic direction for the design and implementation of a continuous improvement model aimed at identifying and applying lessons learned for all aspects electric safety, regulatory, vegetation management, Emergency Preparedness and Storm Response, and other operations support functions.
Emphasis placed on establishment and successful rollout of operational policies and procedures, while developing and implementing program/departmental metrics, as well as risk mitigation strategies and business controls. + Deliver tactical direction for all areas and core functions of Electric Safety for the T&D organization including overarching safety programs, plans, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
Oversee the administration of annual mandatory safety training, as well as readiness exercises and drills across PSEGLI and PSE&G-NJ including but not limited to the Electric and Gas Distribution for over 5,000 utility personnel in Electric T&D, Gas, AMCS, and UOS.
Also represent the Company as an authority for annual storm and emergency response drills, exercises and other related activities in partnership with community, state and federal entities. + Create an inclusive and diverse environment and continuously leverage the talent, knowledge and experience both within and outside of the areas of Electric Operations Support to meet both Department and Corporate objectives including collaboration, mentoring, and accountability.
Lead and support other Company initiatives that drive to improved and increased customer experience including education, communications, liaisons, and processes. + Provide the oversight and direction for the Transmission and Distribution Vegetation Management and Right of Way functions to ensure they are aligned in support of all related T&D Operations during for everyday and emergency/event situations. + Oversee Regulatory affairs as they pertain to NJBPU board staff, reporting requirements, administrative code, and Board orders.
Ensure commitments to communications and reporting, as well as good standing relations are kept/maintained. **Job Specific Qualifications** **Required:** + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or closely related fields + 15 years relevant experience + Proven ability to hit the ground running, lead diverse organizations, design and implement new processes
Proven skillset in translating PSEG strategy into clear priorities for execution; sets challenging growth-oriented objectives Demonstrated success in designing and implementing large projects/processes to improve business results + Proven ability to build, diverse high functioning and integrated teams + Ability to confidently communicate and present to many levels within the organization + Proven reputation in ability to lead at a strategic level while navigating executable results + Strong problem-solving skills of complex issues involving technical, personnel, logistical, and customer-related matters + Ability to make quick decisive prioritization of efforts under internal and external pressure + Strong working knowledge of PSEG policies, procedures, and business controls + Ability to articulate strategies, ideas, processes, and technical matters at all levels of the organizations - including senior leadership, as well as external stakeholders such as regulators, body politic, and customers. **Minimum Years of Experience** 15 years of experience **Education** Bachelors in Engineering or Business Management **Disclaimer** Certain positions at the Company may require you to have access to Part 810-Controlled Information.
