Data Scientist - Graduate Internship

Areas of responsibility for this role include, but not limited to the following:

• Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
• Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement, and formal software process.
• Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
• Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Length of internship: 6+ months with the possibility to extend it as per business needs. This is an entry level position, and it will be compensated accordingly. In this position, you will be a student intern at the New Jersey site. Student must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule if needed.

Qualifications

Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

• Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of machine learning.
• Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on machine learning (with at least 3 semesters till graduation - must).
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, data visualization, and data manipulation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jupyter notebooks.
• Experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience working in Linux environment.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
