About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Specialists to support Strategy and Risk Oversight function for Auto portfolio. This is a critical second line of defense function in the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) organization, aligned to Wells Fargo Auto. This position is focused on helping the business efficiently achieve its goals while effectively managing risks.
In This Role, You Will
  • Review and analyze moderately complex processes and projects, business, operational, or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for risk mitigation strategies within Credit Risk
  • Contribute to credit performance, potential or emerging risks
  • Receive direction from leaders
  • Independently test and validate the credit risk strategies are functioning as intended.
  • Interact with Audit, Legal and Compliance on risk related topics
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Leverage analytical tools such as SAS and SQL to solve complex business problems; and create automated routines to proactively detect data drifts and performance migrations.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for risk mitigation strategies within Servicing Risk.
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements Interpret and develop policies and procedures for level of risk taken in credit activities.
  • Provide ad hoc horizontal risk and control and/or credit governance work, i.e. Delegated Credit Approval Authority support.
  • Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management and provide credible challenge of business strategies, processes, and controls.
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to conduct complex data analysis and solve business problems.
  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or business-related field (ex. Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration.). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Working in a first or second-line risk or control role and leading efforts related to identification and evaluation of risks and controls as part of RCSA program.
  • Experience with Credit Policy monitoring and governance.
  • Strong collaboration skills - Demonstrated ability to successfully manage strategic issues with business partners.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Experience leveraging data analytical tools (ex. SAS, SQL, Python)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of extracting, analyzing and synthesizing data into well-articulated business insights that can be clearly communicated to a variety of partners.
