Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE: Lead global in-house creative agency consisting of Creative Strategy, Global Creative, Copy, Video Content & Production and Creative Operations & Business Accounts by providing leadership to motivate team to drive exceptional creative work, innovative thinking, retain and recruit top talent. Oversee development and execution of all go-to-market brand positioning, strategic and tactical creative work for the Norwegian Cruise Line brand. Translate all marketing and business objectives into clear creative strategies that help build the Norwegian Cruise Line's brand narrative, shifting brand perception, building awareness of products and services, influencing consumer choice, and ultimately generating revenue.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage and cultivate the career development of staff members, including designers, art directors, copywriters, and project managers working with HR to attract and recruit top-tier creative talent and ensure the team is being allocated properly.
  • Champion the Creative Group and proactively seek new business opportunities and wins for growth.
  • Steward the Norwegian brand across all projects and marketing channels and upholding integrity of creative standards.
  • Provide oversight of the Creative Strategy, Global Creative and Copy teams and strategically push the creative integrity of all campaigns and deliverables.
  • Develop the Project Management team and provide oversight for all work processes, work management systems, timelines, and reporting.
  • Translate organization business objectives into all creative. Ensure all creative delivers on briefs and marketing objectives. Review and fine-tune high-level creative briefs to ensure overall project success.
  • Provide ultimate oversight for all shoot-to-concept; architectural and food photo and video shoots that support the execution of specific integrated marketing campaigns and the development of our brand asset library.
  • Foster high-level relationships and business partnerships between the creative team and channel owners.
  • Provide senior level expert creative direction for development of assets with external vendors and partners including illustrators, photographers, and digital and event agencies.
  • Plan and manage department resourcing. Provide short- and long-term staffing, systems, and other recommendations to ensure Norwegian's needs are addressed efficiently and meet company and department objectives.
  • Collaborate with other department leads and build partnerships to ensure seamless processes that bring the work forward, grow the Norwegian brand and business, and refine workflow to better meet high-volume, high-quality program demands.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
  • Provide leadership of creative and production teams to drive highest quality, thoughtful creative delivering on business objectives.
  • Create a culture of creative excellence and a high standard of professionalism, brand stewardship and strong business acumen across the Creative Strategy, Global Creative, Copy, Video Content & Production and Creative Operations & Business Accounts.
  • Work closely with the brand team to define and articulate brand strategy.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and/or Advertising from a Design/Fine Art Institution or equivalent combination of relevant background and work experience.


EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10+ years' experience managing a creative organization within a corporate or agency creative environment required. Strong portfolio that includes direct mail, print advertising, digital design, collateral design, logos, multi-media campaigns and video. Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in integrated, strategic marketing communications.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills including the ability to anticipate trends, situations or changing conditions and take appropriate action on a timely basis.
  • Proven track record leading and managing a corporate or agency creative department required. Proven track record developing creative strategies for consumer brands which have yielded positive financial results.
  • Expert in design and production for print, direct mail, collateral, video, and interactive.
  • Ability to provide creative direction for design and copy.
  • Ability to create superior, original strategic creative work consisting of exceptional design and copywriting.
  • International experience and/or work with multi-national brands. Expert in graphic design and copywriting.
  • Excellence in motivating and managing a staff. Strong communication and persuasion skills.
