Senior Buyer - Procurement

Description:

Procurement professional experienced in developing and executing category strategies and preparing, negotiating, managing, and coordinating agreements supporting categories related to MRO, Capital, Packaging, Professional Services, HR Services, Financial Services, Marketing & Communications and Energy. Provides support to develop/drives global sourcing strategy for spend category. Brings suppliers and market intelligence to help generation of hypotheses. Serves as key point of contact with suppliers. As appropriate, act as a team spokesperson /interface for internal/client groups. Works with global teams to develop/implement strategy.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Creates & evaluates supply market facts and trends and defines implications for sourcing strategies.
• Manages communications with suppliers and serves as key point of contact.
• Help design and execute the RFI and RFQ and leads supplier negotiations.
• Serve as the MRO, Capital, Packaging, Corporate Services and Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Provides a fact-based understanding of current supplier base and intelligence on contracts terms.
• Helps design & lead the implementation plan of the buy strategy, globally.
• Works closely with global team to understand business /regional needs and develop sourcing strategy options.
• Calculate and report accomplishments in all appropriate systems.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of MRO, Capital, Packaging, Corporate Services, and Energy categories required.
• Experience in working with intellectual property concepts and contractual language.
• BA / BS degree with preferred focus on Sourcing & Logistics, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Project management experience or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or certification must be obtained within the first 12-24 months).
• 5-10 years’ demonstrated procurement experience required.
• Experience negotiating agreements/contracts with a strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms and conditions.
• Previous leadership and/or management experience preferred.
