Korn Ferry has partnered with an industry leading manufacturer to identify a Senior Buyer to join their Supply Chain Team for their two Texas manufacturing facilities. The organization has been in existence for over 100+ years and has grown exponentially over the past 10 years and showing no signs of slowing down. The person entering this position will play a leading role in planning, purchasing, and scheduling material to meet customer demand, inventory levels and maximize production efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule and prepare production work order details in terms of products and components, code and identify material requirements, specified dimension and specification detail, routing, number of pieces, release date, shipping date and inventory requirements.
• Code and identify purchasing and production scheduling to meet customer demands and to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Ensure planning, procurement and production scheduling of assigned product line in accordance with MRP system (products, codes and identities, material requirements, dimension and specification detail, routing, number of pieces, release date, shipping date and inventory requirements.

Preferred Experience & Education:

• Degree in Business, Finance or related field
• 3 Years’ Experience in Product / Manufacturing Environment
• APICS Certification
• Familiarity with MRPII

Job Details

• Plan, schedule and prepare production work order details in terms of products and components, codes and identities, material requirements, specified dimension and specification detail, routing, number of pieces, release date, shipping date and inventory requirements
• Expedite and reschedule to meet customer requirements
• Review and approve new/ changed BOM(s) company, including negotiations of rates and routings, and conduct monthly analysis of freight reports, exceptions and reporting status
• Maintain inventory levels in accordance with projected sales
• Maintain and review monthly forecasts and safety stocks
• Ensure planning, procurement and production scheduling of assigned product line in accordance with MRP system (products, codes and identities, material requirements, dimension and specification detail, routing, number of pieces, release date, shipping date and inventory requirements.
• Communicate expedites and customer orders
• Weekly analysis of E & O
• Monitor open purchase orders
• Vendor negotiations
• Correlate planning and scheduling to coordinate order release dates for manufacturing to obtain maximum utilization of machines and equipment and timing of subsequent operations
• Responsibilities for identification, documentation, segregation, evaluation and disposition of non-conforming products / services/ systems
• Analyze, report and initiate system enhancement action items for MIS regarding MRP transactions and enhanced needs
• Management interface of WMS
• Ensure all departments are advised daily on order status to facilitate scheduling to meet customer demands
• All department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary
• Initiates purchasing and production scheduling to meet customer demands and to maintain proper inventory levels
