Key Job Elements

• Weekly
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain team on the quarterly review of critical suppliers
• Ensure that freight targets are met or exceeded each month.
• Daily
• Diligently manage the procurement of material to achieve strategically targeted inventory levels
• Take immediate action to resolve part shortages and escalate shortages that may impact customer delivery
• Quarterly
• Prioritize and respond to ERP messages to effectively manage the flow of material to enable the organization to meet customer demand
• Be relentless working with Planning and Manufacturing to ensure the achievement of the“Performance to Standard Leadtime” (PTSL) targets of the business
• Undertake a detailed review and report out to leadership on current and recommended safety stock levels
• Manage incoming material to minimize expedited freight

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Economics, or Supply Chain

Experience

• Lean Six Sigma certification– Green Belt
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
• Experience in procurement of diecast, sand cast, permanent mold and/or lost foam casting
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems; Oracle JD Edwards preferred
• 8+ years purchasing experience for manufacturing environment

• Must have strong computer skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in decision-making. Achieves balance between quick decisiveness and slower, more thorough approaches

• A solution-based thinker, who is always open to new methodologies and techniques for improving the efficiency and accuracy of processes. Is willing to challenge convention to change the game
• Must be extremely meticulous to execute multiple tasks and priorities promptly with proven reliability and accuracy

Position Type, Schedule, and Travel

This is a full-time position with some travel, roughly 20%. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
