Description:

CytoSorbents develops and manufactures porous polymers used in biological fluid treatment applications. We specialize in treating life-threatening conditions in the ICU and during open heart surgery using blood purification. We are recruiting to fill an R&D Senior Analytical Chemist position in Princeton, New Jersey. The candidate fulfilling this role will act as a lead for the characterization and analysis of residuals resulting from the development of polymer materials.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze newly generated research materials using chromatography methods (GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS), NMR, DSC/TGA, FTIR, and porosimetry
• Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with internal standard
• Document results in technical reports and present data at team meetings
• Record, analyze, and interpret experimental results
• Characterize and analyze small molecule residuals resulting from the development of porous polymers
• Develop, set up and validate new analytical or related processes
• Interact with vendor services and application support as needed

Requirements:

• Fundamental understanding of analytical methods used for polymer characterization
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Direct, hands-on experimental experience in analyzing complex solutions
• Master's or PhD in Chemistry with strong mass spectrometry and HPLC technique and method development
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic workplace
• Self-motivated and well-organized
• Ability to work well independently and in a cross-functional team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
