Senior Accountant - Development Accounting

The Senior Accountant is responsible for journal entries preparation, various General Ledger reconciliations, financial reporting and external audit support, addition to other Accounting duties applicable to a publicly traded company.
Responsibilities:

• Assists in the preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits, in addition to regular SEC filings
• Supports the finance department in providing management with accurate and timely financial reports and analysis
• Prepares account reconciliation for various general ledger accounts
• Audits and reviews high volume transactions; takes appropriate actions to address and adjust incorrect transactions
• Reviews current accounting policies and procedures to ensure current methods conform to company standards; researches and documents current methods and updated policies and procedures
• Prepares and posts monthly close entries related to but not limited to accruals, intercompany transactions, intangible assets, deferred charges, etc.
• Assists in documentation and monitoring of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

Requirements:

• Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience required
• CPA or related experience required
• Minimum of one (1) year in Public Accounting required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills required
• Strong negotiation, planning and organizing skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Yardi Voyager preferred
• Experience working in real estate industry a plus
• Must be able to meet multiple deadlines

In the states of Colorado, California and Washington, the anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $67,050 to $95,865. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts and/or health savings accounts; dependent savings accounts; 401(k) with company matching contributions; employee stock purchase plan; and a tuition reimbursement program. The Company provides 9 paid holidays per year, and, upon hire, new employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 0.0577 hours of PTO per hour worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year.
