Job Description

Position Purpose
To manage and administer the all Department’s technology systems (from operational software programs, software and computer inventory and updates, to vendor liaison and computer systems and programs training); be the Department liaison to the College’s IT Department. Also, provide shift coverage, operations and supervision of patrol, communications and night guard services for the College.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Associate’s Degree in computer sciences, information technology or related field, and three plus years relevant safety and security or law enforcement work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, including (but not limited to) PCs, laptops, Windows Operating Systems, and Office 365, as well as awareness of other business applications.
  • Practical knowledge in maintaining documentation for Department technology need in order to recommends new Technologies, policies and procedures best practices.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a wide range of constituents.
  • 2 years or more of experience in a technical support role.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
  • Able to trouble shoot and solve PC, laptops, mobile devices, phones and software issues.
  • Experience working with Banner or other student data records systems.
  • Knowledge of regulations and policies related to safety and security and higher education (i.e. Clery, FERPA, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 years or more of experience in a technical support role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, information technology or related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in the field of security or law enforcement, preferably in a college or university setting, including patrol, investigation, supervision, training, and administration.
  • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
  • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
  • Experience managing physical and virtual servers and data storage infrastructure for an organization; and (3) Diagnosing and resolving IT system problems

Description
Responsible for maintaining computer inventory and updates for all Department desktops, laptops, mobile devices and monitors, etc. Create, maintain and update administrative and user set ups for operational programs such as Informant, LifeSafe, When-To-Work, etc.

Manage systems credentialing and account set ups for new employees. Serve as
liaison to the College’s IT Department and represent the Department at Dartmouth’s
Information Security Council.

In collaboration with the Communications Supervisor and the Training Coordinator,
develop and implement procedures for the training of Communications Officers and
maintenance of communications systems and equipment. Oversee the training of
employees in all Department systems such as Informant, Lenel, LiveSafe, Rave,
When-To-Work, etc.

Description
Compile and produce data reports for Department provided services and uses, to
analyze safety and security programs effectives and to comply with crime statistics
reporting regulations.

Provide shift supervision, daily briefings and assignment of duties for patrol and
communications officers, night security and students during assigned shifts. Ensures
that all shift reports, documentation, logs, etc. are completed in a timely and accurate
manner.

Oversees special events and assignments, security details and other activities as
assigned or if occurring during regular shift. Ensures that patrol coverage of the
Campus is maintained with on duty personnel at all times, assigning personnel to
specific duties and calling in personnel when necessary to provide coverage.

Oversee shifts and ensure smooth security operations, provide guidance and advice
to staff on Department policies and procedures. Responds to emergencies and
provides leadership and direction to Department personnel during events. Notifies or
directs notification to the Director and other College administrators of significant
incidents and occurrences.

Conducts investigations into incidents, and if necessary call in Investigators or
request follow ups or further investigation of incidents.
