Job Description

Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for an Assistant Manager of Security & Surveillance!

The Assistant Manager of Security & Surveillance is responsible for overseeing the direction and performance of the Security & Surveillance team. This experienced professional supports the development, implementation and execution of the overall operational safety and security plan for the Sunseeker Resorts property, ensuring the protection of all employees, guests, property and assets while maintaining regulatory compliance. The Assistant Manager of Security & Surveillance must be highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment and take the lead on life safety projects. This role requires extensive overall security/safety/law enforcement knowledge and background and will report directly to the Director of Security and Surveillance.

Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor occupies over 22 waterfront acres and is home to 785 guestrooms, 20 original food and beverage concepts, a waterfront promenade, two unique rooftop and waterfront pool experiences, a resort exclusive golf club, and much, much more! Our goal for this leader is to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our future guests and team members.

All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Proactively seek guest feedback and liaise with other departments when opportunities present themselves ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience
  • Maintain communications with hotel leadership and ensure communication regarding security incidents, as well as any situations that may affect the guest experience
  • Assess, develop and successfully execute internal and external security plans for special events; quickly adapt to change as required by events; conduct regular audits and inspections to assess, identify and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps
  • Consistently look for ways to refine security processes without compromising guest satisfaction
  • Manage the organization and administrative structure to most effectively utilize resources and capabilities to support and deliver security services required for the property
  • Ensure all accounting, payroll and team member relations matters are handled in compliance with company policy
  • Teach about doing things the right way with integrity, hard work, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Ensure the processes for log management, threat detection, incident response and recovery, automation and orchestration, as well as threat assessments is followed by security staff
  • Continue to learn and be on the forefront of new technology for the security and surveillance industry
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when evaluating new programs, new services and new ideas
  • Assist in the development of threat detection and intelligence programs including investigation procedures, response and recovery playbooks, collection and analysis, and dissemination of threat intelligence to the organization
  • Maintain a positive workspace for all team members where team member engagement levels are high due to everyone feeling valued and enjoy coming to their job
  • Assist with the development, implementation and execution of the overall operational safety and security plan for the Sunseeker Resorts property
  • Perform other functions as needed
  • Assist with Planning, executing, evaluating, and training security officers to maintain effective crowd control during times of high traffic
  • Create ways to further enrich the guest experience by continuously reviewing, implementing and refining security procedures to ensure every opportunity to offer extraordinary guest experiences while maintaining a culture of smiles, retention of luxury standards
  • De-escalate disagreements between individuals and opposing parties
  • Act as liaison with local law enforcement, US Department of Homeland Security, and any other applicable outside/government city/state agencies
  • Develop collaborative relationships and synergy with all support departments such as Convention Sales & Services, Facilities, Security, Front Services, Front Office, F&B, Golf Course and Executive Offices
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development, execution, and day-to-day operation to include the management of all Security job classifications and facilities (hotel, common areas, promenade, command center)
  • Foster a management team that possesses and delivers on key strategies of guest service, team member relations, team cooperation, financial responsibility and asset management
  • Conduct regular formal and informal team meetings with subordinates to ensure departmental morale and to identify deficiencies within the organization
  • Sit or Stand post when required until properly relieved

Requirements

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. Candidates will need to be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.   • Previous experience managing teams of security and surveillance operators and with CCTV surveillance systems, preferably in a large setting
  • Law enforcement, security, or military experience
  • A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years experience in law enforcement, security, or military field
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Florida state class G Armed Security License
  • Possess or be able to obtain a First Aid /CPR/AED certification
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Broad, in-depth knowledge of security methods, tactics, procedures, and laws
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, overnights, weekends and holidays
  • Maintain certification with all issued firearms, defensive weapons and gear through employment
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Florida state class D Security License
  • Bachelors’ degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a security leadership position

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms
