The Analyst will work with portfolio managers and other team members to seek out attractive risk-adjusted investment opportunities in Non-Agency CMBS and RMBS securities for a variety of investment strategies with a focus on capital preservation. The Analyst is expected to perform comprehensive credit analysis, evaluating both the collateral and the capital structure to identify risk and seek out specific investment opportunities. The Analyst will be responsible for conducting credit surveillance of existing positions, maintaining awareness of macroeconomic, market and industry developments and effectively communicating findings to portfolio managers and other team members.


What You Will Do


  • Monitor and analyze fundamental and technical trends in CMBS and RMBS as well as broader Commercial Real Estate and Residential Mortgage markets.
  • Develop and maintain loss models used to evaluate potential and existing investments.
  • Analyze investment opportunities across primary and secondary markets, generate trade ideas and make specific trade recommendations.
  • Assist in the effort to continuously review and improve team processes.
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional network which would include sell-side sales and research as well as other industry experts within your sectors.
  • Review model results and reconcile with actuarial and accounting records.
  • Conduct regular credit surveillance on all holdings which would include monitoring emerging credit and performance trends as well as designing and conducting various scenario analyses.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting with Board investment summaries, quarterly reporting packages, credit ratings change memos, and other ad hoc reporting.
  • Conduct reviews as prescribed by the group's portfolio monitoring guidelines and communicate findings to the investment team. Maintain a database for the group's monitoring history.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all investment policies and company specific guidelines.


What You Will Bring


  • Candidate must possess at least a B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Economics or other quantitative field and either have or are making progress toward obtaining CFA charter.


What Will Set You Apart


  • Proven ability to organize, process and analyze large data sets and draw well-reasoned conclusions.
  • Experience working with Bloomberg, Intex and CoStar is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills (High proficiency in Excel and programming skills desired).
  • 1-3 years of relevant investment experience in fixed-income markets focusing on securitized products, experience specific to CMBS/CRE preferred.
  • Capable of effectively working in a team-based investment environment.

The salary range below shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.


Base Salary Range


$ 95,100.00-134,325.00
