About the Job

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position. Hours of this position are Sunday through Wednesday 6pm to 4:30am.

As a Sanitor, you will be responsible for the sanitation of the dry and wet mix plant and the upkeep of the grounds/offices surrounding the facility. Our Sanitors adhere to all sanitation standards established by IFS and Food Safety Policies, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and our Plant Safety Policies.

What Does It Take to be a Sanitor at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

• Experience with GMP's, IFS Standards, understand HACCP programs and plant safety preferred
• Able to work effectively in situations involving heights
• Able to work as part of a team
• Ability to perform and demonstrate lock out tag out on equipment authorized to LOTO preferred
• Previous experience in sanitation preferred
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English to follow safety precautions
• Forklift certified or have the ability to become forklift certified

What You'll Do as a Sanitor

• Maintain work area to include the proper cleaning and storing of work tools and chemicals.
• Supply inventory of the Janitorial closet and the extra storage areas.
• Cooler and freezer cleaning
• Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility.
• Scrub floors using floor scrubber, mops and buckets.
• Refill all hand soap and paper towel dispensers in all areas of the facility, this includes production areas.
• Upon completion of training, the ability to clean, foam, and sanitize processing equipment.
• Upon completion of training, the ability to clean the silo rooms.
• Pest Control
• Facility upgrade work (as directed by the supervisor, production manager, or facility manager)
• Report malfunction of equipment immediately to supervisor.
• Janitorial duties such as cleaning of all restrooms, vacuum, empty trash, Sweep and mop all areas, and dusting of all office areas and breakrooms.
• Other duties assigned to you by your Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
• Cleaning of racks, pipes, and overhead fixtures/beams.
• Sweeping and cleaning of the smoking area
• Adhere to all company safety policies, plant policies and plant procedures.
• Completion of tasks in the appropriate amount of time according to the Master Cleaning Schedule
• ATP testing
• Deep cleaning and sanitizing of Process/production lines when not in use.
• Tower cleaning
• Stripping and waxing of the lobby, R&D lab and offices, Dry Lab, Break room 3, wet QA lab, and production office (One Sunday a month).

• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut productions, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
• Team members must also be able to lift 50-75 lbs, occasionally 100 lbs. Position requires constant and continuous support of production and other departments.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to grasp, move, or utilize objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use sensory perception for quality measurement of products.
• Working around heavy machinery – Hearing protection required in production area
• Temperature fluctuates with the season – colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
• Physical duties involved in performing this position include but are not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, bending, standing, crouching, reaching overhead and climbing.
• This position requires proper sanitation of the equipment, filters, tools and mechanical parts.
