Job Description

Position Overview: As an integral member of the sales team, the Commercial Sales Analyst primarily analyzes customer rate structures, generates preliminary solar and storage designs, models the financial value of energy systems, builds customer sales proposals, organizes key sales documentation, and researches potential customer opportunities. From client identification to contract development, the Commercial Sales Analyst is involved in every step of the sales process, including the direct interaction with customers.

  • Help input, monitor, and maintain customer relationship management (CRM) software functions for Companys commercial operations
  • Prepare proposals and customer-related financial and energy analytics in coordination with Company's commercial sales, engineering, and legal staff
  • Assist with the preliminary design and layout of energy systems using Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, and PVSyst
  • Support with other sales operations needs as assigned
  • Understand and interpret nation-wide utility rate structures and pricing, particularly the State of California and Hawaii, as well as international utility rates as required
  • Perform financial analysis of customer energy costs and the benefit of various alternative energy solutions, using a knowledge of how a Lease, Loan, and Power Purchase Agreement work
  • Support Asset Management team for billing analytics
  • Manage, organize, and collect customer and sales documentation
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, agencies, and co-workers


Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, environmental studies, or related program
  • Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards
  • 2 years of sales and analytics experience in the renewable industry
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in an organized and accurate manner
  • Knowledge of PVsyst, Helioscope, and Energy Toolbase preferred
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of solar systems and batteries preferred
  • Must excel in customer service and data analysis
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook


Physical Demands:

  • Minimal bending, stooping or reaching
  • Requires periods of walking, standing with some light lifting of files
  • Sit at a desk 6-8 hours per day performing tasks on a computer


Working Conditions:

  • Requires considerable concentration
  • Moderate to low noise levels
  • Primarily office setting with no extreme temperature variations
  • Requiring normal safety precautions with minimal occupational health and safety risks
  • Stresses induced by changing environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and high volume of workload and shifting goals
