The Commercial Roofing Estimator will primarily have ownership over building project estimates for the sales organization and maintain the relationships with our vendors.

This role will require engagement across all facets of the organization: sales, production, accounting, administration and a high level of customer service both on the phone and in person with a variety of customers, suppliers and subcontractors.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Analyze Eagle views and specifications to determine scale of project for residential, multi-family and commercial flat roof projects

· Perform accurate measurements in the field of the project to properly determine material and labor needs

· Ensure we are compliant with local building requirements and municipality business codes

· Understand contractual terms and conditions and the process of insurance-funded projects

· Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner

· Organize sub-contractor’s quotations and negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract margin requirements

· Coordinate the analysis of project margins with Controller and finalize cost build up prior to final contract being developed

· Monitor progress, requisition change orders and identify potential risks

· Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to project

· Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing

· Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress

· Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services

Qualifications & Experience

· Previous experience estimating projects ranging in value up to $5 million as well as experience with the following roof types: Low Slope, Sloped, Membrane, Shingle, Metal and Tile

· Experience in the roofing sectors of construction industry

· Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design

· Exceptional communication skills

· Education in engineering, architectural or construction management is an asset

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the construction field in similar or related position

· Experience with Xactimate, Edge, BlueBeam or other similar tools is essential

· Experience with submitting for government, insurance, and non-insurance bids

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
