Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and administer medications, as prescribed by the provider, applying aseptic technique
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards: measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards: making or recommending necessary adjustments: following the standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act and other governing agency requirements
• Performs general clinical care to patients, administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and physician orders
• Ability to communicate delicate information with compassion
• Observe patient response to medications administered and reports adverse events to provider
• Handle refill requests in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures
• Handle triage phone calls from OB and GYN patients in a timely manner
• Ability to understand and follow SDO’s (standing delegated orders)
• Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments
• Modify patients’ nursing care plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions
• Maintain QC logs for various pieces of equipment in the office (spore testing, oxygen, etc.)
• Aids physician or associate practitioner during treatment, examinations and testing of patients
• Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patient, measures vital signs (i.e. weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature) and documents in patient’s EMR chart
• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare patients for OB and GYN related procedures such as Colposcopy, Endometrial Biopies, IUD insertions, Fetal NST’s, etc.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR
• Ability to provide appropriate instruction and teaching to patients for prescribed medications
• Performs patient screening and triage utilizing the nursing process and assessment skills
• Performs all duties in accordance with clinical, OSHA and infection control standards
