Rn - Ob/Gyn

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian part-time Registered Nurse – OBGYN at the Fort Belvoir-sponsored Family Health Centers in Dumfries, VA. This position will require part-time 20 hours a week schedule. Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays half days. Patients are seen for routine OB-GYN care including prenatal care, well women exams, and family planning. The OB-GYN Clinic provides outpatient OB-GYN care and nursing care through health promotion, prenatal screening, diagnosis, treatment, and education.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Evaluates patient's response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patient's stay.
• Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• OB intake nurse(create a record for the pt, obtain history, order labs, educate on pregnancy care /colpo nurse (managing f/u paps)

Job Requirements

• Availability to work a schedule a day schedule on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• An understanding of medical and clinic settings.
• RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
• Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least 2-years’ experience as a registered nurse.
• Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Demonstrated competence email and written communication.
