Your Role With Us:

Oversees the flow of the Gynecologic Oncology and Breast Care Center clinic: This position helps direct patients, visitors, staff, and providers to the appropriate exam room, collaborates with Access Services to monitor patient arrival and departure, contacts no-shows, arranges for interpreters as needed, triages phone calls and schedules follow up appointments with patient after their visit. Provides excellent service to internal and external customers. Demonstrates empathetic, helpful and courteous behavior to all customers. Exhibits ability to express appreciation of the customer’s unique needs. Demonstrates ability to respond appropriately to patient’s fears, anxiety and anger.

Core Functions:

  • Provides clerical support to the supervisor, manager, providers and team.
  • Manages Right Fax and incoming calls, makes telephone encounters, manages the recall list, completes confirmation calls, verifies patient information, and manages provider schedules in EPIC after it has been given to Intake Coordinator by Supervisor.
  • This position tracks and collects data for improvement projects and reporting, creates and formats basic spreadsheets and develops Word documents.
  • Provides logistical support to the supervisor, providers and team.
  • Prints labels and medication sheets, checks the communication folder, checks staff messages for follow up, updates family comments in the Snap Shot and obtains insurance authorization on an emergent basis.

Background/Expertise:

  • Experience with insurance pre-authorization, billing and coding preferred. Knowledgeable of both manual and computer tracking of scheduling systems.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in medical environment required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
  • Medical Assistant, CNAII or like experience in the medical field. Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
