Job Description

  • Educational Skills Required (Degree(s), Certification(s), License, etc.)
    • Current New Jersey Professional Nurse License; CPR within 6 months of employment in this position; Ability to perform all competencies of the position is required for employment in the position.
  • Labor and Delivery Nurses help bring new life into the world every day. They care for women during labor and childbirth by monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers and assisting doctors. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you -ll prepare women, and their families, for the stages of giving birth and help patients with breastfeeding after the baby is born. Additionally, your responsibilities will include monitoring the baby -s heart rate and mother -s blood pressure; timing of contractions; helping to administer medications and epidurals; identifying and assisting with complications; aiding in inducing labor and preparing new mothers for before, during and after pregnancy.
  • Work Experience Required
    • A minimum of 1 year RN experience required; previous OB experience preferred.
