General Summary
Responsible for directing unit activities and personnel on assigned shift in order to ensure high quality patient care, teamwork, and coordination of care. Determines work priorities, prepares daily work assignments, approves overtime and monitors compliance for regulatory requirements. Serves as resource person for unit personnel in resolving operation and patient care problems, acts as physician liaison, and role model for staff in the Elmhurst Emergency Department.
Hours: Evening and Night hours
Required Education And/or Experience

• Baccalaureate Degree or higher in Nursing

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

• Required License and/or Certification:
• Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years experience in Emergency Services
• Previous charge nurse experience

Preferred License and/or Certification:

• Certification in specialty
