Job Description
:
We seek an individual with significant energy market, risk management or analytical experience in the financial, commodity, or a related industry located in the US (remote). This person will report to the VP Commodity Services. The required character traits and job accountabilities are listed below.

Major Job Responsibilities:
  • Conducting weekly and monthly market meetings with clients and internal -stakeholders
  • Performing various types of analyses to assist clients in determining risk appetite via customized strategies toward managing energy market risk
  • Presenting market analysis and strategic directions to external clients
  • Development of risk management products and services
  • Developing specific hedging strategies for energy commodities utilizing all available contract or financial instruments for industrial and commercial end-users
  • Training internal stakeholders on fundamentals of risk management methodologies
  • Travel requirements: approximately 5-10% of time

Qualifications:
A successful candidate should have a proven track record in the following:
  • Associate: 2+ years of experience in energy commodity fundamentals including crude oil, fuels, natural gas, electric power, with an understanding of the application of financial instruments and derivatives
  • Manager: 5+ years of experience in energy commodity fundamentals including crude oil, fuels, natural gas, electric power, with an understanding of the application of financial instruments and derivatives
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Experience presenting to senior level executives
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be well organized and capable of managing multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Execution or knowledge of hedging orders with counter parties
  • A self-starter with the ability to also work in a team setting in developing information, strategies and solutions
  • Proven ability to establish and manage a commodity strategy
  • Ability to build relationships across departments and geographies
  • Energy contract procurement experience or client management skills
  • Proven ability to understand macro-economic trends and technical charting
