About The Opportunity


Our Children and Families services offer a variety of child protection, youth justice, outreach, family intervention and family support services. We are always on the look out for suitable applicants who meet the minimum standard qualification and have relevant experience supporting others to achieve their personal goals.


About The Role


As a Residential Youth Worker your role will help support young people with high to complex needs and behaviours to have a stable, consistent and predictable ‘home like; environment which is therapeutic and safe. We service the geographical area of South East which includes Logan, Ipswich and Gold Coast surrounds. We are seeking permanent part-time or casual staff. Permanent rates start from $35.99 and Casual from $44.99 per hour not including applicable allowances.


You become the primary carer for young people during your shift. Your main role is to keep them safe, get to know them whilst teaching life skills to establish a stable consistent routine.


You work with the Coordinator and Service Manager to develop therapeutic trauma informed interventions that will assist the young person with complex issues.


A day in the role of a Residential Youth Worker will include:


  • Promoting good hygiene and good nutrition with young person
  • Planning, assisting and engaging in suitable activities with the young person
  • Completing daily case notes, admin tasks and incident reports
  • Must be flexible in availability for Sleepover, weekend and awake shifts
  • Being a part of a wider team who work collaboratively to help with young person achieving their personal goals

We also require workers to have:


  • Current valid driver's license (Green provisional plates or higher)
  • A COVID-19 vaccination requirement applies to this role - evidence of your vaccination status must be provided prior to commencing employment.
  • A paid Blue Card or have applied for one
  • Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training
  • Be able to provide 2 recent referees
  • Child Safety Personal History Check (LCS2)
  • Already hold a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services or similar
