Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Technician. The newly founded Yarmarkovich Lab (https://www.yarmarkovichlab.com/) is seeking a highly motivated Technician to join a growing team focused on developing a novel class of personalized CAR T cells. The technician will join a dynamic multidisciplinary group working at the forefront of developing precision immunotherapies. As such, technician will perform various functions intended for translation of novel CAR T constructs to the clinic, working at each stage of the immunotherapy development pipeline from target discovery to CAR T engineering to clinical development. This role will provide growth opportunities and exposure to a broad range of experimental and computational approaches involved in the development of new immunotherapies: genomics, proteomics, PCR, flow cytometry, cell culture, molecular cloning, vector production, CAR T cell generation, immunological assays, protein engineering, bioinformatics, single-cell experiments, and technology development. The technician will be responsible for performing independent experiments, developing and optimizing assays, and collecting/analyzing/interpreting/presenting data. You will also play a pivotal role in the development of novel multi-dimensional CAR T screening technology, requiring the ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge effectively. The technician will join a local and international multidisciplinary effort focused on developing the next generation of CAR T cells through: Biden Cancer Moonshot, St. Baldrick-Stand Up To Cancer Pediatric Cancer Dream Team and Cancer UK Grand Challenge, and will benefit from exposure to local and off-site expertise, collaborations, and scientific meetings. Due to the startup nature of this opportunity, access to a very broad range of growth opportunities will be available. Individuals will have unique opportunities to master and develop cutting edge technologies, cultivate independent projects under close supervision from PI, publish and present work at conferences, and gain exposure to experts across disciplines. Ideal for recent university graduates interested in translational research, biotechnology, entrepreneurship, and/or applying to MD/PhD, MD, or PhD programs. The Yarmarkovich Lab will assist in growing your scientific acumen and professional repertoire, as well as provide career mentorship and sponsorship opportunities. Two year minimum. The Yarmarkovich Lab will be housed in the brand new state-of-the-art Cure building (https://cure.345pas.com/gallery/).
Job Responsibilities:
- Lab Duties - advanced lab duties, under general supervision as well as more advanced duties under direct supervision. Assists senior and supervisory technicians in all advanced procedures. In addition to those duties expected of an Associate Research Technician, Research Technicians may be expected to coordinate the repair and preventive maintenance of lab equipment. Additionally, is expected to assist in experiments using established protocols and procedures, and records results of experiments.
- Participates and performs other related duties as required.
- Judgment/Decision-Making - Is able to recognize problems as they occur; and through the application of appropriate policy/ procedure, determine and/or recommends the appropriate solution. Seeks guidance as necessary for the performance of duties asks appropriate questions when in doubt and utilizes reference sources/materials to endure accuracy. Advises appropriate personnel of situations/problems requiring intervention or follow-up attention.
- Assist in Developing Procedures - Assists in implementing new procedures and protocols to support experiments. Participates actively in developing, recommending and implementing new approved procedures, or modifications to existing protocols and procedures. Maintains and updates technical knowledge.
- Communication/Relationship with Others - Cooperates, communicates and relates well to all levels of Medical Center. Listens carefully to others in order to respond appropriately, answer questions or obtain needed information. Communicates ideas, problems, suggestions, and messages in a timely and effective manner. Maintains the confidentiality of all research information.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with one year of experience. Advanced (beyond basic lab training will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring Principal Investigator). Effective oral and written communication skills required.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $50,000.00 - $63,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
