TITLE: Certified Surgical Tech

LOCATION: Bronx, NY 10461

STATUS: Full-Time

SCHEDULE: 7:00am-3:30pm, 3:30-11:30pm, or 11:30pm-7:30am

PAY RANGE: $47.00-70.00 per hour, depending on experience and education

This is the pay range that BAHAMA Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Overtime paid at 1.5X regular rate of pay)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a Surgical Technologist, you will efficiently perform the functions of a scrub person during surgical procedures delivering patient care services served during the shift of duty in collaboration with the RN
• Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items
• You will also be collaborating to carry out the standards of nursing practice and patient care, accurate use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN
• Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment
• Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking
• Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures
• Following appropriate action in emergency situations
• Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments
• Modifying clinical interventions based on population served
• Anticipating the surgeon’s needs
• Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of scrub experience on major OR procedures
• NBSTSA CST Certification - required
