Job Description
The Clinical Research Coordinator assists in the daily activities of clinical research studies, obtains informed consent; collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in preparing and documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Prepares for monitoring visits.
  • Exhibits the results of the research studies to groups of people.
  • Intermediate MS Word (Word, Excel), Access, Outlook; Intermediate SPSS/SAS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Keeps a track of the research-related expenses incurred.
  • Assists in the activities related to clinical research studies including but not limited to: answering phone calls, screening participants for eligibility, registering subjects with sponsoring agency, administering lifestyle questionnaires.
  • Assists in preparing grant applications, IRB/GCO protocols for submission and filings by: performing literature reviews, assisting in the draft preparation, being the contact person for the IRB/GCO and coordinating all communications with the IRB/GCO.
  • Maintains an organized working environment. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Establishes and meets deadlines
  • Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with hospital procedures. Ensures accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.
  • Prior experience in clinical research and IRB protocol preparation will be preferred, but not required.
  • Secures, delivers and ships clinical specimens as required by the protocol.
  • Collects and records study data. Inputs all information into database.
  • Obtains informed consent under minimal supervision of the investigator(s) and educates participants regarding study requirements.
  • Bachelor’s in Science or closely related field.
  • Assists in the preparation of manuscripts for submission for publication by performing data collection and analysis, table and figure creation, reviewing the literature, writing and editing drafts, and other related duties as requested.
  • Performs other related duties.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $81,675.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
