IARD is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reducing harmful drinking and promoting understanding of responsible drinking. It is supported by the leading global beer, wine, and spirits producers, who have come together for a common purpose: to be part of the solution in combating harmful drinking. IARD’s work is informed by scientific evidence on alcohol and health, including alcohol policy. By bringing together data and research on drinking patterns, alcohol in society, and regulations at a national level, IARD examines practices around policies and interventions that reduce harmful drinking. IARD’s tools and resources are intended to support stakeholders in formulating approaches that can be adapted to local needs and contexts.
We are recruiting for a part-time Research Intern. Duties will include:
- Processing and entering data and information into structured files
- Descriptive analysis using primary and secondary data sources
- Content management for IARD’s databases and webpages
- Conducting regulatory research from publicly-available sources
- Supporting the Science and Research team to review scientific evidence on alcohol and health outcomes and related policies and interventions
Experience and skills:
- Data processing, data entry, and data visualization experience
- Experience with content management systems (e.g. Kentico)
- Ability to faithfully follow detailed instructions
- Experience with systematic review processes (e.g. PRISMA, literature searches and study screenings)
- Clear and concise writing, demonstrated ability to accurately summarize scientific writing
Required Education:
Pursuing/completed graduate degree in public health, public policy, or related discipline.
Ways of working include:
- Independent time management
- Contributing to group discussion and projects
- Participating in person in weekly team meetings
Applicants must have U.S. work authorization.
Salary: From $21.00 per hour
Benefits: Flexible schedule
Schedule: Day shift, no weekends
