Job Description

Research Consultant Role at CRA | Admired Leadership

CRA | Admired Leadership seeks top talent looking for a challenging and rewarding career supporting research and strategic communication advising organizations and senior leaders on their toughest internal communication problems.

The Research Consultant works alongside our Communication Research practice which seeks to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies within our extensive client base and provide evidence-based recommendations to create high-performing cultures.

We know better than anyone that it’s about translating data into knowledge and knowledge into action. Whether it’s finding out what drives employees’ attitudes and behaviors, gathering the information leaders need to make informed decisions, or identifying what an organization needs to do to create change, we conduct the right research and develop action plans to improve organizational effectiveness in many areas.

As a Research Consultant, you will work on a variety of projects that analyze both quantitative and qualitative data. Those projects could include:

  • Helping leaders understand which messages will resonate with employees—and which will not.
  • Assessing the organization’s communication channels and vehicles, and identifying gaps in the communication portfolio.
  • Understanding the barriers and obstacles to getting employees to know, do, believe, and feel what leadership needs them to.
  • Measuring whether communication efforts are effectively aligning employees with the organizational direction or with key initiatives.
  • Gauging stakeholder (whether internal clients or customers) perceptions of service provided.
  • Elevating organizational performance by conducting cross evaluations tailored to the client’s industry and culture.

In our firm, consultancy is best understood as an apprenticeship of three to four years. Consultants, under the daily guidance and mentorship of a Managing Director or Partner, do real work on real client problems and help develop solutions using research-based CRA | Admired Leadership methodology and intellectual property. Consultants work closely with colleagues and clients across a diverse set of experiences, receive regular daily coaching and guidance to build their advisory skills, and work their way to building their own business as a Managing Director.

Our firm emphasizes a strong commitment to excellence, relationships, and collegiality. If you want to challenge yourself intellectually, move fast, be coached, and expand the boundaries of your potential, this is the place for you. Ideal candidates have a background in the social sciences and an interest in organizational communication, and these essential attributes:

  • Unshakable confidence, tempered by the humility that learning requires
  • An extraordinary work ethic in pursuit of excellence
  • An eagerness to operate in an entrepreneurial culture
  • A passion for communication and human behavior
  • An appreciation of the importance and nuance of successful client and colleague relationships
  • An analytical mind and passion for data-based storytelling
  • Ability to work independently
  • An understanding of statistical analyses (e.g., regression, significance testing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools such as SPSS, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for solving unique problems, often with little context
