Department Summary
The Psychology Department has a large undergraduate program with more than 1300 psychology majors, and three doctoral programs. Substantial proportions of our majors and graduate students are from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds to and engagement with diversity in all its forms is expected. Position Overview
The RA will assist with lab projects, including serving as site manager for an NIMH -funded study aimed at creating better instruments for assessment of mental illness.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in the field of assignment, and two years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
 Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures.
 Working knowledge of equipment used in related fields of research.
 Considerable knowledge of health, safety, and security precautions in keeping with type of research being done.
 Ability to set up and operate research instrumentation and equipment. Ability
to make accurate assays and to prepare reports, charts, or graphs on results.
 Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field preferred
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills preferred
Experience Using Qualtrics, Excel, And SPSS Preferred
Experience with research studies and human services position (either volunteer or professional) preferred
Required License / Registration / Certification

Job Duties

Assisting with protocol development.

Coordinating recruitment sites.
o
Scheduling participants, coordinating protocol implementation among student RA’s and assisting with data collection.
o
Organizing data management.
o
Assisting with website development and maintenance.
o
Assisting with administrative duties related to lab projects.
o
Conducting literature reviews and contributing to scholarly presentations and publications.
