Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the School of Arts and Sciences. This position requires the candidate has a comprehensive knowledge of ECM and stem cells.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides supporting research analysis to the lead researcher (PI) on the project.
  • Designs experiments engaging current available ECM technologies/tools.
  • Assists team members to reach milestones (specified by the project) timely.
  • Assists PI and team to optimize the culturing and differentiation of stem cells using extracellular matrix ( ECM ) technology.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two years of relevant work experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have good communication, interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
  • Experience with immunostaining, RNA isolation and qPCR.
  • Stem cell culture, extracellular matrix, cell differentiation and cell viability assays.
Equipment Utilized
  • Biosafety cabinet, pipettes, microscopes, plate reader, Roche Lightcycler480.
