Position Summary:
Dr. Salam Daher is hiring a research assistant for her research in healthcare simulation & training using mixed reality. Learn more about Dr. Daher’s lab at l https://vitalhsnjit.com/.
Essential Functions:
  • Support project in training caregivers with virtual geriatric patients. Learn more at https://vitalhsnjit.com/projects/virtual-geriatric-patient/
  • Creating content to control & animate a 3D character and integrate it into a unity game engine, then deploying to a head mounted display (e.g. HoloLens, Oculus Quest)
  • The development will support a planned research study which includes other related tasks such as data collection and integration with different packages and APIs.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
  • In addition, previous experience of development in maya, creation of a 3D character, texture creation and UV mapping, rigging, animation, Photoshop, unity, C#, is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or student near graduation) in information technology or computing related field is required.
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in information technology or computing related field.
  • Knowledge in XR, integration of different APIs, and data analysis is preferred.
