Job Description

The Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC) is a consortium of renowned experts who are world leaders in investigating ways to prevent disease and promote health. Their work is focused on identifying the most practical, science-based solutions for addressing some of society's most pervasive and preventable health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions and to raise the standards of scientific investigation that matters for health. SPRC investigators are collaborating on numerous, long-term projects designed to translate research into effective ways to promote well-being at every stage of life.

This position will be part of the Nutrition Studies Research Group. We do community-based dietary trials with participants of all ages. This individual will be one of two primary contacts for the research participants for the dietary assessment data collection portion of the study. For this specific position, we are looking for a diet assessor with extensive experience using Nutrition Data System for Research (NDSR) as a research tool across participants of all ages. This is a remote position.


Duties include:

  • Coordinate collection of study specimens and processing.
  • Collect and manage patient and laboratory data for clinical research projects. Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and other study related documents, and complete study documents/case report forms.
  • Serve as primary contact with research participants, sponsors, and regulatory agencies. Coordinate studies from start-up through close-out.
  • Ensure essential documentation and recording of patient and research data in appropriate files per institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Assemble study kits for study visits, monitor scheduling of procedures and charges, coordinate documents, and attend monitoring meetings with sponsors, acting as primary contact.
  • Determine eligibility of and gather consent from study participants according to protocol. Assist in developing recruitment strategies.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of Nutrition Data System for Research (NDSR).
  • Proficiency with REDCap.
  • Experience in working with research participants.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Two-year college degree and two years related work experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.


CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.

The expected pay range for this position is $44,000 to $78,000 per annum.
