The role will be based at our Foster City office in the Bay Area but we are willing to consider alternative locations, including remote working, for an extremely well-qualified candidate.

Visa’s Knowledge Center team is dedicated to providing research assistance and access to payment industry research to individuals across Visa globally. Among its key functions, the team manages and uploads content to an internal website that is accessible to all Visa personnel. The site hosts searchable research content relating to the payments sector licensed through various research subscription services. In addition, the team provides research support for colleagues around Visa globally, responding to research requests by conducting preliminary online research and conveying findings to the requester. The team also oversees the distribution of a daily email newsletter, schedules regular webinars on topics of broad interest in the payments industry and maintains a steady communications flow with users highlighting new research resources and materials as they become available. The team continually engages with the IT, legal and sourcing teams to ensure the smooth functioning of Knowledge Services and on-going development of its intranet platform.

As a member of a small team, core duties for the Research Analyst include:

  • Other. Over time, the role is expected to evolve to assume greater responsibilities and opportunities for personal growth. These could include areas such as fine tuning of search on the Knowledge Center website, curating the news feed for the site and creatively synthesizing research on key topics for our many users at Visa.
  • Content Curation. Select, review, tag and upload research documents to the Knowledge Center website. Participate in team efforts to improve the taxonomy and overall process.
  • Research Support. Provide research support to Visa teams globally. Interact directly with Visa colleagues to understand the nature of the request, as needed. Search various sources including syndicated research reports housed in the Knowledge Center, databases available to the Knowledge Center and external resources.
  • Subscription Sources. Assist with team interactions with Visa’s Sourcing team to help ensure the smooth operation of relationships with our research company sources.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent research capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 5 or more years of work experience with a MS, Library and Information Science degree
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible
  • Ability to execute multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong client/customer focus

Work Authorization:

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,400.00 to 128,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
