Research Analyst (Internship) Jobs

1870 Ventures is seeking a hardworking, highly motivated undergraduate student to support the Investment Team in conducting research for new opportunities within the Mobility and Health & Life Science sectors. The qualified candidate will gain in-depth exposure to venture investing and management as well as a variety of technology platforms and startups.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor and track ongoing venture trends and industry dynamics
• Support all aspects of due diligence on new pipeline opportunities (sector thesis, financial analysis, competitive landscape/market fit, tech assessment, financial modeling and deal structuring)
• Participate in weekly internal meetings to discuss new pipeline opportunities and portfolio companies
• Assist in preparing reports and decks for Investment Team
• Monitor the performance of existing investments and provide regular updates to the team

Requirements

• Demonstrate interest in the startup and technology ecosystem
• Outstanding communication skills - both written and oral
• This position will be in person/on site at the 1870 Ventures office located in Columbus, OH
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel and Google Workspace Apps
• Desire to learn and an eagerness to make a meaningful contribution to the team environment
• Currently enrolled in Undergraduate program (engineering, computer science, economics, data analytics or economics preferred)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills
