COGS have partnered with a fortune 500, industry leading renewable energy manufacturer who are in growth mode and are seeking a talented Metals Purchasing Director to join their rapidly expanding business. For this role, you will provide strategic oversight and management to several category managers with a spend of over $500Million whilst collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure strong supply of raw material.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute a global metals procurement strategy
2. Identify and manage strategic suppliers, maintaining strong relationships.
3. Negotiate favorable pricing and contract terms with suppliers.
4. Collaborate with internal teams to align metals procurement with manufacturing needs.
5. Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure compliance with regulations and sustainability standards.
6. Monitor metals markets, provide analysis, and inform decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• 10+ years of experience in metals procurement, with a steel, aluminum or copper a plus
• Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and manufacturing processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Analytical mindset and ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of global metals markets and supply chain logistics.
