Responsibilities


State Farm's Digital Experience team is seeking an Experience Lead to join us in a Design Thinking Experience Facilitator capacity.


As a seasoned UX champion and Design Thinking Experience Facilitator at State Farm, you will lead cross functional, high priority strategic efforts with product leadership and their teams. You are an exceptional communicator demonstrating strong people leadership skills and user experience sensibilities. Inspire teams through discovery, empathy, design, and delivery of innovative solutions for complex problems in order to achieve user-centered outcomes. You have a rich understanding of qualitative research methodologies and have the ability to interpret quantitative data with qualitative data to elegantly balance desirability, viability and feasibility. You champion advocacy for human centered design, and coach & develop others through discovery and delivery of solutions utilizing design thinking process and techniques.


In this role you will:
  • Exercise a range of methodologies including design research, service blueprinting, collaborative work session design and facilitation, ideation, rapid prototyping, and frameworking to strategically define ideal experiences
  • Identify major detailed project tasks, resources, and coordinate the efforts of internal and external parties necessary to see successful project completion including external vendors.
  • Create and facilitate design-led workshops to engage and build alignment across different partners and teams
  • Possess advance visual, written, and verbal storytelling to share discoveries, gather and integrate feedback, influence, and create energy for an idea or initiative
  • Support product teams to achieve clear problem statement definition, define big ideas and capabilities, and pressure-test ideas through design research, test and learn methodologies, and value assessment.
  • Be an expert on the subject matter of all things Design Thinking.
  • Leverage your strategic thinking skills to seamlessly handle ambiguity with a calm, clear demeanor and successfully lead cross functional teams to clarity, including senior business leadership
  • Demonstrate an advanced ability to generate clear and pragmatic directions to the most complex business problems.
  • Autonomously exercise strong critical thinking and sound judgment while independently making decisions within their own projects and providing consultation and oversight to those executing other projects in doing so, the Design Thinking Facilitator must:
Qualifications


Competitive candidates must have the following skills/experience:


  • 5+ years of applicable work experience in a UX or digital product design team
  • Established track record in planning, facilitating, and executing various types of design thinking based workshops with a high success ratio
  • Experience leading large enterprise-wide customer experience journeys in an agile environment.
  • 2+ years of running and leading Design Thinking efforts
  • A portfolio will be required for candidates who advance to the interview phase.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
