Job Summary:
The Relationship Banker is responsible for providing quality, accurate, and timely member service involving daily processing of financial transactions and opening accounts in a retail-banking environment.
Responsibilities:
- Teller support would include performing daily processing of financial transactions, i.e. deposits, handling currency, coin, cashing checks, and balancing.
- Cross-sell and make referrals to bank partners to generate new business and deepen existing client relationships, participate in member calling activities.
- Providing a full range of banking services, with emphasis on member service.
- Participate in banking center meetings to enhance knowledge of sales initiatives/processes, bank products, operational processes, and "exceptional" member service delivery.
- Explain bank disclosures and bank procedures to members, as required and/or needed.
- Assists members in opening new accounts, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit and safe deposit boxes, ensuring that all documentation is completed and properly routed.
- Assists members with bank service requests such as account maintenance, direct deposit, wire transfers, stop payments, check ordering, etc.
- Meet members face-to-face or on the telephone to discuss personal financial and banking needs through a client advocacy approach, and recommend ways the bank may satisfy those needs
- Performs related duties as assigned by manager.
- Explain product benefits, changes, restrictions, requirements, and any other relevant product information to members.
- Handle/research member issues and help provide resolution.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Working knowledge and understanding of other bank services, i.e. Treasury Management, Merchant Services.
- Under one year of similar or preparatory experience.
- Previous banking and cash handling experience preferred.
