JOB SUMMARY:

The Regulatory Affairs Associate, as an active member of the Regulatory Affairs team, participates and assists in regulatory activities for the sale and communication of L’Occitane products in North America (United States and Canada) through sell-in and sell-out channels. This individual provides support to help ensure that L’Occitane products meet and follow all regulatory requirements necessary to conduct business in North America.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with general product questions, regulatory inquiries, and questionnaires
• Provide support with products survey reporting as needed
• Help review documentation for post-marketing activities
• Provide support with competitive intelligence reporting from a regulatory perspective
• Work closely with Regulatory Affairs Specialist to collect data for new and existing products as needed to comply with cosmetics notification/registration requirements in the US and Canada (FDA, Health Canada, California Safe Cosmetics Program…)
• All other duties or projects as assigned.
• Track and maintain accurate records of submissions
• Help update and maintain product master database
• Gain working knowledge of North American cosmetic regulations and product claims substantiation as part of the North America regulatory team
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of regulatory procedures like Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
• Coordinate regulatory documentation activities with Group Central Regulatory Affairs department to maintain product dossiers
• Prepare and submit product notification/registration and updates ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
• Verify documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in a scientific field (biochemistry, biology, chemistry or related scientific field)

EXPERIENCE:

0-1 years of experience in a Regulatory Affairs position in cosmetic /personal care industries

SKILLS:

• Passion for the beauty industry and strong interest in cosmetic products
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines
• High accuracy and reliability on assigned tasks
• Demonstrates an immediate sense of urgency as well as flexibility
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
• French speaking is a plu The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 for the NYC region (based on skills, experience and with differentials applied if outside of NY).s
• Delivery and results focus, with high level of attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Ability to function in fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently, take direction, and prioritize accordingly

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• N/A

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000 for the NYC region (based on skills, experience and with differentials applied if outside of NY)
