Job Summary
The Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Extramural funding is expected but not required. Competitive start-up funds and appropriate space will be offered.
As a part of the long-standing commitment of the University and the Commonwealth of Kentucky to translationally oriented traumatic brain and spinal cord injury research, SCoBIRC offers a wealth of resources for neurotrauma research. Competitive startup funding, salary support, and state-of-the-art facilities are available. Ph.D. and/or M.D and a track record of ongoing research in neuroscience and injury-related disciplines. Candidates must possess a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally-funded neurotrauma-focused research program, that complements and extends the current expertise within the Center. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on the interaction of spinal cord or brain injury and infections (localized or systemic).
Interested individuals should submit a statement of research interests (attached under ‘Specific Request 1’), CV, and the names of three references.
Applications will be reviewed beginning July 26th, 2023, and the search will remain open until the position is filled.
