Registered Respiratory Therapist- Per Diem-Variable Shifts

Salary Range $51.85 - $65.83 plus applicable per diem differential
Job Summary
Administers routine respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages in all areas of the hospital, as prescribed by a physician, and under the direction of the Director or Shift Leader. Performs other related duties as assigned, including EKG. In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, may also be assigned other duties as required.
This position will work in all adult inpatient areas and Special Care Nursery. NRP Certification is required.

Education Requirements

• Associate degree, preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent, required.
• Graduate of a recognized JRCRTE/AMA approved 2 year Respiratory Therapy program

Work Experience

• Critical Care, Neonatal and post cardiac care experience, desired.
• 2 years acute care experience desired

Licensure/Certifications

• Actively Registered (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS, CPFT encouraged, preferred.
• Licensed (RCP) by the Respiratory Care Board of the State of California, required. Must provide the department with a copy of valid RCP license initially, and upon subsequent renewal and/or change of status.
• Required certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support and NRP, present and maintain valid cards, and provide department with a copy for our records. A grace period of 60 days from hire is allowed for NRP.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal physiology related to the respiratory system. Understanding of the indication, appropriateness, contraindications, and side effects of various medications and treatment techniques is required.
• Ability to organize work, set priorities and perform detailed work.
