Job Title: Registered Nurse (NICU RN)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (NICU RN) to join our dynamic team and provide exceptional care for our neonatal patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a NICU RN, you will be responsible for monitoring and caring for premature or critically ill newborns, providing specialized nursing interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Your expertise and compassion will be crucial in the delivery of high-quality care and support to these fragile infants and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Respond effectively to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
- Educate parents and families on the care and special needs of their newborn, including proper feeding techniques and medications
- Provide specialized nursing care to premature babies, infants with respiratory distress, congenital abnormalities, or other critical conditions
- Monitor and document vital signs, administer medications, and operate medical equipment
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through attending relevant seminars, workshops, and courses
- Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement treatment plans, including administering medications, therapies, and interventions
- Assess newborns upon admission, evaluate their needs, and develop personalized care plans
- Maintain accurate records of patients' medical histories, symptoms, and progress
- Ensure the safety and comfort of newborns, ensuring a clean and sterile environment
- Assist in the coordination of patient transfers, admissions, and discharges
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Knowledge of neonatal diseases, treatment procedures, and equipment
- Proven experience in a NICU or related healthcare setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
