What you'll be doing:
Registered Nurse to provide telephone triage to patients through the Centralized Follow-Up department. The Triage Nurse is responsible for answering questions from patients about lab results STIs, contraception, following up on abnormal lab results and referrals. The Triage nurse communicates with patients and staff in a manner consistent with clinical protocol and the organization's mission and values. They perform audits in electronic health records as requested by the Director of Quality Management.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate proficiency in health center policies, procedures, and practices
  • Works well with volunteers and interns to achieve the agency’s mission. May supervise interns and volunteers
  • Performs audits in electronic health records as requested by the Director of Quality Management
  • Interacts effectively and builds trust with a diversity of people and has demonstrated an ability to effectively work across differences
  • Supports and encourages a culture that: Provides a rich conduit of information and ideas between sites and departments
  • Ensures that interactions incorporate PPSNE values of integrity, partnership, customer focus, communication and quality
  • Performs ongoing proficiency in electronic practice management systems and electronic health records
  • Understand Racial Equity: Demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions
  • Incorporates customer satisfaction into all aspects of the work
  • Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies, and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs
  • Supports efforts of the agency’s diversity program to provide services that are culturally and linguistically competent; takes the initiative to develop own awareness and knowledge of diversity matters
  • Supports the agency’s mission and all of the reproductive health services offered including family planning services, women’s health screenings, testing and treatment of STI’s, birth control methods and abortion services
  • Under the direct supervision of an APRN, CNM, PA or MD appropriately triages telephone calls and portal messages from patients, manages lab results (normal and abnormal), follow up and referrals based on PPSNE Medical Protocols and Centralized Follow-up Policy and Procedures
  • Self-awareness as it relates to racial and other identities: Awareness of multiple group identities and their dynamics, and brings a high level of self-awareness, empathy, and humility to interpersonal interactions
  • Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork; understands the interaction between this position and others with whom the position works directly and indirectly

Qualifications

  • Reproductive health care or primary care experience highly desirable
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to provide quality services to meet the individual needs of patients
  • Current state license
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including excellent follow through for multiple projects at multiple locations, ability to work independently as needed
  • Excellent decision-making abilities both collaboratively and independently
  • Graduation from a recognized school of nursing
  • Superb attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures from beginning to end within established timelines
  • CPR certificate of completion
  • Strong supporter of PPSNE mission and all the reproductive health services offered – alignment with and ability to lead through the Agency’s core values and diversity philosophy
  • Desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients.
  • Ability to utilize data to inform the decision-making process

Schedule

  • 2 Saturdays required per month
  • Monday - Friday hybrid
$59,985 - $99,795 a year
Salary Range; Min $59,985 Mid $79,980 Max $99,975 and is based on full years of experience.
