Healthier Generation has worked with schools, youth-serving organizations, businesses, and communities to empower kids to develop lifelong healthy habits by ensuring the environments that surround them provide and promote good health. Job Purpose – What You Will Do
As a vital member of the program team, you will represent Healthier Generation and lead implementation of one or more of the organization’s strategies or initiatives within a defined geographic area. Your role will be heavily involved in project management, relationship building, and facilitation of training working to cultivate strong partnerships, advance Healthier Generation’s programmatic delivery, and build a robust culture of philanthropy.
Responsibilities
Relationship Building and Partnership Engagement:
In efforts to cultivate strong partnerships that expand and enhance Healthier Generation’s impact to ensure every mind, every body, every young person is healthy and ready to succeed, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Establishing, building, and maintaining key relationships with community organizations (schools, community-based organizations, churches/faith-based organizations, healthcare providers), community entities (government, local and state coalitions), and other stakeholders by identifying their needs, working to increase awareness and engaging them in Healthier Generation initiatives.
  • Leveraging relationships built, successfully recruiting, or identifying programmatic sites such as schools, districts, or community organizations to join the Healthier Generation’s project.
  • Identify key individuals in partner organizations who can serve as champions.
  • With colleagues, continually identify, assess, and operationalize opportunities to align and strengthen Healthier Generation’s support of community health and equity efforts.
  • Work with supervisor to identify internal work groups related to Program Management skill-building as well as personal interests
Program Delivery:
In order to advance Healthier Generation’s programmatic delivery to promote healthy environments, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Conduct and provide technical assistance to partners related to the 6-Step process.
  • Work with partner sites and other organizations to create/design/deliver appropriate resources or materials specific to project.
  • Broker tailored resources based on project and organization needs utilizing Action Center and Healthier Generation resource directory.
  • Tailor, implement and manage the delivery of Healthier Generation’s capacity building and awareness strategies and initiatives towards community, organizational and/or specific grant goals and deliverables.
  • Work with National Advisor team to curate resources and to provide appropriate professional learning opportunities for in person or virtual delivery.
Stewardship:
Fostering stewardship builds a robust culture of philanthropy that fuels Healthier Generation’s mission to empower kids to develop lifelong healthy habits, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Cultivate, write and promote success stories, best practices and lessons learned to highlight community impact, support knowledge management and advance funding opportunities.
  • Understand and promote HG’s Culture of Philanthropy by serving as an ambassador for the organization and fund development, fostering relationships that support community needs and impact aligned with organizational priorities, providing funder stewardship and supporting development with project concepts.
  • Report progress and results through formal and informal reporting procedures, including contributing to grant reports, providing project updates, and tracking progress using various technology systems, such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred education and experience requirements for this role:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in schools, public health, out-of-school time, or other youth environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant education and experience
  • Experience in youth mental health, chronic absenteeism, and food security/food access a plus
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Other Requirements:
  • Compliance with Covid Vaccination policy, which requires full vaccination or exemption accommodation on the basis of a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief/practice.
  • Located in Western Washington
  • Frequent travel by car or plane up to 30% of the time.

Each job at Healthier Generation is assigned to a salary grade built on market data. For an individual coming into Healthier Generation, we set pay between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary grade, based on qualifications. For this position, the minimum is $65,658 and the midpoint is $78,789.
