Position Summary

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for achieving sales and profitability goals in all
Branches assigned to them. They are to conduct business unit audits, review operational
utilization of assets, material handling equipment and delivery equipment, and buildings and
ensure the business unit is staffed and trained in accordance of company policies. The Regional
Operations Manager should have thorough knowledge of and be able to recommend changes or
additional policy and procedures necessary to enhance financial controls: report findings to
VP of Operations and Executive team. Conducts job specific training and timely
evaluations and supplies additional training support to the branches.
  • Provides leadership to ensure the long-term operations of each business unit that ensure branches are operating efficiently and effectively, driving maximum return for the company.
  • Provides management coverage to branches as needed.
  • Conducts branch audits to ensure all business units are operating to the expectations of the Company Branch Standards and to policy and procedure.
  • Evaluates each branch for breakdowns in the integrity of the company inventory and facilities.Analyzes the staffing requirements for each position on each branch. Makes recommendations if changes in head count are warranted.
  • Coaches, teaches and trains all positions to ensure that we can deliver on the company mission statement of have it in stock, ship it today and ship it right.
  • Works with Branch Manager to meet sales, profit and expense goals including truck run profitability, on time delivers and proper utilization of assets.
  • Analyzes the staffing requirements for each position on each branch. Makes recommendations if changes in head count are warranted.
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are implemented at all branches.
  • Ensures that the Branch is fully staffed and trained on all company policies, procedures and guidelines. Provides recruitment assistance to the branches as needed. This may include reviewing applications, interviewing and assisting in the selection of the qualified candidates.
  • Act as a leader and role model on all safety initiatives. Should at all time demonstrate the highest safety standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Directs and aligns the Sales and Operations team to achieve objectives that are established in the company strategic plan.
  • Provides analysis of branch warehouse layouts, makes recommendations for improvements, prepares budgets and schedules implementation of all approved set-ups.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work with sensitive and highly confidential information
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Willingness to travel extensively (60%+)
  • Five or more years’ experience in a comparable field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
