Regional Director, Municipal Sales (JD 48)


We are seeking an experienced Municipal Sales professional to join our team. This role is an integral member of the sales organization and will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies that target municipalities. This role will work closely with the services, marketing and customer service teams to grow our Sustainable Community Networks solar + battery storage footprint.The right candidate will be skilled in working with government entities, visionary and passionate about renewable, sustainable solutions. This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. This is a remote role and can be based in New Haven or a neighboring town in close proximity.


Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrated expertise in renewable energy legislative policies and regulatory matters
  • Ability to travel 50% - 60 % of the time
  • Communicate the value proposition and capabilities of Electriq Power’s solar + battery storage solutions
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the communities we invest in
  • New business development and/or expanding existing business partnerships with municipalities and delivering revenue and pipeline
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Operations teams and execute on Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, marketing campaigns, to assist with sales efforts in targeted markets
  • Demonstrated expertise in renewable energy technologies and markets
  • Recruit, train, mentor and grow the business development team
  • Develop, strategize and engage with ecosystem partners within the municipal - residential community channel


Work Experience:


  • 7-10+ years of experience with a proven track record of success in both sales as well as business development goals


Knowledge & Skills:


  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
  • Familiar with tracking customer funnel in CRM
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
  • Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient in Google suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail


Education:


  • Master's/MBA degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience


Salary:


$120,000 - $145,000 base annually + uncapped incentives


  • The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and in the geographical location noted.

After four months of building, testing, rebuilding, and retesting, Electriq’s first energy storage prototype was complete.Over the next few years, the team grew, investors emerged, and Electriq’s original prototype evolved into its first consumer-ready smart home battery, the IQ System. And even though the energy storage market was still in its infancy, consumers recognized the dire need for home energy storage.

Our home battery systems can be found in customers’ homes and small businesses all over the world. Electriq Power has even donated systems to hurricane-stricken areas like Puerto Rico and Haiti to help them become more resilient during dangerous weather conditions.
